The 2008 American Community Survey
The American Community Survey is replacing the census long form to obtain detailed data on US residents. ACS data show a slight drop in the number of foreign-born US residents between 2007 and 2008 to 38 million, including 326,000 fewer Mexican-born US residents and 121,000 more Indian-born US residents. Median household income was $52,000 in 2008, and fell by almost four percent between 2007 and 2008 in Florida while rising almost four percent in Louisiana.
